I find it fascinating how they've been pushing Black Lives Matter in Japan lately. It was bizarre enough to see it in Europe, but this really takes the cake

Youtube videos and searching things like "solar panel buying guide" are are really good for starting your research into solar panels and water systems. I'm just start starting off myself so I can't recommend anything specific, but apparently, for solar panels, it's more important which company makes them than what type of tech they are (just going for the cheapest tech from a good company seems the best way to go). Quality and longevity apparently vary a good bit between decent and shitty manufacturers.
Land acquisition is a very local question. My thinking is that you want some good, fertile, non polluted land with it's own water source(s), which is somewhat out of the way and hidden (not visible from the road, away from main roads etc) without being too far in the middle of nowhere. Unless you want to just fuck off to the middle of nowhere, you'll most likely want to be living with a foot in both worlds for as long as you can, so it doesn't make much sense if you have to drive like 6 hours to get there.
