Republic Protocol and Wyre, the leading blockchain FX company operating a regulated global payment infrastructure are pleased to announce our partnership to bring liquidity and Wyre’s industry-leading KYC service to RenEx.

The partnership will focus on the following areas:

Wyre will be providing liquidity to RenEx and serve as a Key Liquidity Partner with Wyre’s OTC trading desk. Having ample liquidity is a necessary component for any dark pool to thrive and we believe this arrangement will only complement our two projects. By virtue of providing liquidity to RenEx, Wyre will be participating in Republic Protocol’s Liquidity Incentive Program, which consists of a revenue sharing agreement emanating from RenEx dark pool rewards.

Wyre will be providing KYC/AML integration services with RenEx. Know Your Customer (KYC) & Anti-Money Laundering (AML) are compliance realities that the decentralized finance world must move towards for facilitating large trades and we are setting precedence by partnering with an industry leader.

Wyre will assist in onboarding OTC traders to RenEx through Wyre’s broker services. Wyre will use its existing network to ensure a new cohort of OTC traders can gain exposure to and have easy access to RenEx.

> Republic Protocol is building a Decentralised Dark Pool Exchange. For those that don't know a Dark Pool is for high volume trading away from a regular exchange to avoid affecting the price, also known as OTC trading.
> Republic Protocol will be the first decentralised Dark Pool.
> If you own 100k REN you can run a dark node which collects revenue from each trade that takes place through the protocol.
>Currently just under 3 cents
> Recently announced that the protocol can be used by anyone to set up their own dark pool but all trades are processed through the dark node holders. This means you collect revenues from every exchange that utilises the Republic Protocol.
>Big name investors including Polychain Capital & Huobi Capital. Coincidentally Huobi announced that they plan on adding a dark pool to their exchange, I wonder what protocol they'll use to implement it?
> Test net is ongoing and main net at end of September.

why is this so special? call me a dimwit but why would an exchange use this for OTC as opposed to their own OTC system?

The team at Republic Protocol is happy to share a few smaller development updates in preparation for Mainnet Beta. Some of these features have come directly from testing and testnet feedback, so once again we appreciate all that have participated so far in helping shape the development!

First and foremost, more gas optimizations are being deployed this week that will lower the cost of matching orders resulting in higher rewards for Darknodes and will lower the minimum order volume. Our estimates suggest that the updates will give between a 4-10x increase in savings on gas fees.
An auto-updater has now been added to the Darknodes. This allows you to set up your Darknode and not worry about manually updating through the CLI, ensuring you have the latest bug fixes and security updates, all done automatically. We want to provide the best possible user experience, and this is a great step in that direction. In addition to a better user experience, it will also provide greater overall network security and performance.
Accidentally sent funds to your Darknode? Fear no longer, refund commands in the Darknode CLI have been added to allow operators to retrieve funds that are accidentally sent to the Darknode. A common problem that has been found in testing is that some people are confusing Darknode address and sending funds to it, for example when trying to submit their bond - instead of interacting with the smart contract. Again, we want to provide the best possible user experience, and this addition helps prevent the worst case scenario by providing fund retrievability.
Last but not least, our Golang Software Development Kit is undergoing final testing before deployment which will enable support for trading bots and automated trading software to operate on RenEx through an HTTP API. These tools are a crucial component for enabling those to support liquidity on RenEx, and as always we will be looking forward to hearing feedback once this is released.
