explain this to me like I am a retard (I am).
how is it a bailout exactly?
>The bank is gone
>bank shareholders are not getting a penny
>FDIC guaranteeing insured and uninsured depositors out of its fund and the sale of SVB assets.
>there will be a loan for the difference
>said loan will be paid back in new higher insurance fees to the government/FDIC
how does this in courage risky banking practices if the bank itself still gets wrecked?

>No one holds a large quantity of an asset, if he wasn't believing in future gains.
This is what "in for the tech" means by the way, at least for a project like monero.
"In for the tech" can easily be translated in "I don't care about short term price movements because the tech (a private digital currency) is just too good so at some point in time it will greatly appreciate in value and I'll be able to use it (not sell it for fiat) to buy more real life stuff directly."
Monero for being a currency can absolutely be used as a "savings asset" where you store money for future needs. Some people might not care about short term price fluctuations because it's may be more important to have this money on an asset that is truly untraceable and impossible to confiscate (monero).
There are millions of use cases of people having a need to hide money. You can hide money digitally with monero in ways that were never possible before.
>Kid lives with abusive parents and start saving money in monero to move away without having parents to rob his money
>A couple go through divorce and instead of having 50% of your net worth transferred to the parasite you have assets hidden in monero that are untouchable
>Due to fear of a big war unrest settles in your country. Government might start freezing people's bank accounts and limiting how much money they can access. You decide to move to another country or continent and you can easily bring monero with you on a USB stick or piece of paper without fear of it being traced back.
I honestly think that people who can't see the many use cases for a currency like monero must be the most over-protected and naive human beings on this planet. There are many reasons to hold monero in varying quantities.
