ADA n00b reporting in, I need some help with staking guys.

I got my first 500 ADAs ready to be transferred to Daedalus which just synced on my desktop PC. How do I select a pool with best rewards? I see a lot of pools but not sure what the green/yellow colors, the bars on the bottom and the numbers mean exactly. Does staking involve any risk (losing my ADA, etc.)?

Also, do I have to leave my PC running all day long, or can I switch it off while staking?

Really new to all this stuff, any help would be much appreciated.
