I'm just closing my broker today. This whole thing is weird and strange and my mind can't keep up with what is even going on.

Half my stuff just dumped, the other half pumped.

We don't control the flu as well. There was never a chance of "controlling" this disease.
At this point there are two possibilities:
-Boomers start accepting their mortality and that people over 80 can in fact die. The nations open back up and old people with lung cancer can pass to heaven or the great abyss.
-Boomers continue to panic and destroy the economy and life of others while handing the world over to China and India.

Obviously the first option is unrealistic. I seriously think people in the west are just too well fed and decadent to really deal with this. They think any small problem their gouvernments can't regulate ad control is the apocalypse. They lost the ability to weigh things like lifes, comfort and prosperity against each other, because they didn't have to for so many years. They expect all of them.
People here say shutting down the economy is worth it if just one life is saved and still expect their wages to rise.

Pull through and establish rules. Then be cold and follow these rules.
Always remember that the market can go anywhere at any time. A shitty company you have puts on booms because people bought BUG instead of BOG. Or you might long a company and it dumps 5% without a singe reason.

Hedging.
Literally every fund has things to cushion the fall. I wouldnt look too much into the things funds buy really. You might pick something they see as an emergency option.
