This. But also any serious attack on US assets on the level of a carrier group would also likely result in the deployment of orbital assets in response. The Chinese can pretend they are ready for battle all they want in order to feel macho, but they would be fools to expect any carrier group to ever be without its warden. Assuming there are no eyes in the sky and attacking them based on that assumption will be a mistake the Chinese are not allowed to make twice.

I would not fuck with a country that has already used orbital strikes and probably violated the space WMD nonproliferation agreements
Also, Americans burn their own peoples children alive. Why do Chinese think they will get better treatment?
