You joke, but as of September, it was among my best performing boxes. I specifically grabbed OGW because people thought it was a weak set, was about 7 years old / opened a ton, and was just on the cusp of when boxes really start to take off. So far it's been decent.

That's fine, it's better than holding $10 commander/modern rares that will get reprinted a million times. I still want to own some cards, but I don't want to have them in cards/boxes that won't appreciate. I know there's probably better things to park my money in, but at least they're not in that category specifically.

You have a very valid point, and high end RL will probably take a bath, but people were also saying the same thing going into Covid. However, I think we're just getting into the start of a multi year bull run. This year is still pushed and overprinted, but imagine the next year or two, when people are financially hemorrhaging and can barely afford nice things, let alone sitting on sealed product. WotC will probably cut production and rein in some of the volume, which means less boxes to go around next year.
Though if they were hoarding Legends as a treat, and modern shit isn't selling, it's hard to know exactly how much volume of whatever cards exist. Actually I wonder if the Legends inserts were testing the waters to see how much they could push the Reserve List.
