i don't know enough about black monday or about the algorithms and trading and all that to make much of an intelligent comment on this however i can tell you that a lot of smart people were saying that the algorithms and computers and programs are too complex to be trusted and that they are dangerous and can cause a lot of damage and problems for the economy
it's not hard to imagine them all feeding off of each other and causing a panic and creating a big mess
