dollar cost average in, you should never be 0% in stocks, unless you are a literal time-traveler from the future

why not just have many stable dividend stocks, then use dividend money to chase options memes, instead of turning on DRIP

worst case scenario, you still do as well as your stable dividend stocks, +- a few percent, and its more fun than a portfolio thats just one or two index funds

you sound retarded, but if you are really worried that you missed the boat, but only kind of, just use half cash to buy back in now, half later
or 1/3 now, 1/3 later, 1/3 when "the crash" happens

your best bet was to never cash out, but to just buy the dip extra hard when we did have the dip

if you are investing well, you deposit money into your stocks every month, so you can just cost average down when a dip happens

panic liquidating your entire portfolio because of a hunch is just pants-on-head retarded though

the last graph showed returns when all stocks were sold and replaced with new random stocks every month

and yes in reality the equal weight thing is hard to pull off, since everything must share a least common denominator with your most expensive stock, (one AMZN gets randomly picked means you need to have $100,000+ in your account for example, one BRK.A means you are multibillionaire )

but diversity wins out over indexes most of the time, as long as you hold instead of trying to be le epic day trader

there are too many people in this thread who go all in on 5-6 stocks then wonder why they dont survive downturns

random picking trumps most TA strategies too

and of course it all depends on what time period you are investing for (or testing a trading method for)
