There are literal shills and useful idiots en masse arguing on reddit that crypto needs regulation and to make a deal with the established financial institutions.

I think this is the flux of normies everyone has predicted.

I think monero and currencies like it are the only goddamn hope.

When Monero is more like Bitcoin than Bitcoin, you know it's the future.

25 BTC here. Just a tip to fellow club members, don't forget to hold Monero as well. It has about the same total emission as Bitcoin so the numbers are the same for exclusive membership.

Why would a private untraceable currency win out? Wouldn't this be a nightmare for business? Is XMR just libertarian LARPing?

Thoughts about this coin?

I've looked at the charts and it seems relatively undervalued at the moment.

Is this a long term hold?

I would say that in the case of Bitcoin (not alts) the fact that it is being used to buy drugs on the internet makes it valuable. There is no better way to transmit value over the internet without the permission of banks. So far the only crypto to present a better alternative to Bitcoin for this purpose is Monero so that is why I also say Monero has fundamental value.

They are not stocks so obviously you determine their fundamentals differently.

Aren't you sick of chasing shitcoin pump after pump? Aren't you ready to try to understand and contribute to an actual next-gen cryptocurrency that could rival Bitcoin one day?

If you want to keep chasing shitcoin turdlets, then GTFO. But if you are ready for something real, then maybe this is your wakeup call, Buddy Boy.

I'll make it real simple: Bitcoin has one critical flaw, and that is that every Bitcoin client has a public and open copy of the ledger. Every transaction you make with Bitcoin is recorded for all to see until the end of fucking time, anon. Entire companies are springing up around the idea of blockchain analysis. This obviously won't work for a world currency. This is only going to get more transparent going forward.

Coinjoin and other services aren't good enough - when the base procotol is public even using a mixing service can be deemed 'suspicious' (think of how the NSA gets interested in you for using Tor). We need a protocol-level anon coin developed using cutting edge cryptography.

Dash? It is a pyramid scheme with instamined coins by the creator. It is shitcoin tier trash.

Zerocash? It doesn't exist yet, and it has untested cryptography and many other security issues associated with it (like trusted setup).

There is exactly one coin that has the potential rival Bitcoin, and it isn't the hot steaming mess that is Turing-complete Ethereum.

It is Monero, the largest implementation of the Cryptonote protocol. For the first time in the history of our entire god damn species we can send money across the planet instantly, nearly free, without anyone's permission.... and now completely privately.

Welcome to the future. You're lucky af to be one of the first people on the planet to be hearing about this, same as Bitcoin early innovators were in 2010. If you're ready for the next generation of smart money, you are clear to board.

Monero. It is truly anonymous and untraceable, something Ethereum is not.

It is the natural Bitcoin replacement and you may eventually see a 1:1 ratio... sooner than you think.

But don't believe me. Google 'monero' and 'cryptonote'. The ticker is XMR.

For a long time, not even the smartest people on the planet thought Monero was possible to create.

And yet here we are, in 2016, with it in existence.

Decentralized, untraceable, digital money. No premine. No IPO. No schemes. No scammy nonsense.

A fair distribution with a pure Proof of Work algorithm. It is the fabled 'bitcoin 2.0' many have been waiting for.
