I'm from Spain and in most apartments you don't even get the option to install one that isn't those good for nothing portable ones.
This is because by law we can't hang the condenser units from the walls outside, for the one in a million reason that one could be poorly installed and fall, and most buildings are not adapted for having them on the rooftop either.
The most hilarious thing is that despite being Spain, new apartments/buildings are constructed following a more international model where design and aesthetics is valued over utility, so we get apartments like those in Sweden and other places which are not build to endure prolonged periods of extreme heat and sunlight, with massive windows that go from the roof to the floor and that you can barely open and still not adapted to have an A/C unit. So add to the generalized lack of A/C this type of stupid shit and you have the recipe of disaster. We lived more adapted to the heat 2000 years ago than today.
