The wojak index is giving me a mixed signal, I can't tell if /biz/ is bearish or bullish right now.

I saw this exact same post every rally on the way down, and the exact opposite post (be fearful when others are greedy) for every dip on the way up. And you know what? I wouldn't expect any different from this board.

Following up from last thread:

Which is the better strategy? Going for Water Ecology jobs with a bachelors in Aqu. Bio, or going for a masters in Geoscience? I tried looking on some job sights for Water ecology positions but came up with zilch.

Probably nothing. Logic does not apply to stocks.

Nor to presidential elections for that matter. Nobody had info on corrupt, senile Joe Biden just like nobody will have info on anything negative about Facebook.

Mainstream is hating on Intel so much now that I can’t help but wonder if it’s gonna have a good rebound here soon. Price as of this post is $47.95 so let’s wait and see. What say you, anon?

After the drop, the worst-case scenario is seemingly priced in the shares. From this level, there are more upside risks than downside.

Pic somewhat related

Core of it is
>play the doombull and high volatility.
>take that money and go into miners and healthcare
>take those winnings and slap them into PM miners and ride it out.
It's expecting some retarded tier inflation showing up one way or another or a flight to a superior currency because something somewhere will take us off of the dollar standard. Just like how in 2018, the writing was on the walls about market being ready to get battered, it seems like the writing is on the wall for gold to outperform or risk related to dollar hegemony. It's early for this play, and I think things still need to develop to really go big on it, but based on some of the risks and trends... I'm very happy to start allocating into gold miners now and re-evaluate for entries every time i take profits from this volatility insanity. Additionally:
>commodities were at historic lows
>raws are good re-expansion cyclicals
>i like shiny

I think retail investors are finally realizing how truly fucked the economy is, and that no "reopening" is taking place.

Stores and malls are open in my area, but nobody with half a brain is going to spend any money because were on the cusp of a new depression and because nobody wants to get fucking sick and die

All events, theoretical and actual, have already been priced in.
If tomorrow an asteroid smashed into the Earth killing eighty percent of all life, that would have already been reflected in the strike price of 30 day call options on KO.
If every single person on earth lost their job simultaneously, the DJI would not drop even a point.
There is no event that ever has happened, is happening, or will happen, that has not already been factored in to yesterday's close of the S&P 500.

What's the point of even having companies or producing goods or services?
From what I understand, the way the markets work is;

>investors tak risks
>when it looks like shit's about to go bad the Fed prints a bunch of money and gives it to banks as a loan with no interest
>banks save everyone by buying toxic assets
>Fed seizes the toxic assets from the banks or buys it from them
>stonks go up

So with that all being said, why do we even need the companies on the stock market to do anything? Couldn't we just create 100 random stock tickers, put them on a dart board, and just have the Fed randomly decide to inject a cool trillion into one or two per week? Why do the companies have to actually do anything?

It all hinges on how the govt responds to it.
Personally I think that with this stimulus package, they've opened a Pandora's Box they can never close. Every American just got $1,200 directly into their bank accounts, nobody's going to forget that. And it's supposed to be temporary, but in an election year which politician is going to vote to be the one to stop giving money to the 10+ million people who just lost their jobs?
I think you're going to see an extension of the 'temporary' UBI program. And then it will get larger because $1.2k isn't enough. Then it will get larger, and larger, and larger. And the fact remains, nobody can pay for it. So we'll print money to pay for it.
And at first this will work. There's so much dollar denominated debt out there that we can print money for quite some time. But we will eventually hit a tipping point where people will stop taking out debt in dollars, or oil deals will start to be done in some other currency, or some combination of factors. And in a matter of months, all that inflation we kept on managing to export to foreign countries and/or isolate in the stock markets will come to your grocery stores.
And when that happens hoo Nelly is it going to be some serious shit.
