Does anybody here have experience conducting research to determine whether or not a product or idea has the potential to be marketable?

I went to school for computer science and mathematics and graduated a few years ago. I live with parents, have zero expenses and save at least 95% of my earnings.

Technology jobs are not plentiful in the area where I live, but even if they were abundant, I have no relevant work experience on my resume and I graduated from a literally who university. I also have Asperger's and crippling social anxiety. I have considered doing freelance work, but most of that involves competing with third-worlders for minimum pay.

To avoid some of these issues, I thought I might just develop a software product of my own and attempt to sell it. My main issue is figuring out what kind of software people would be interested in using. One other complication is that I might also have ADHD which makes sticking to a plan extra difficult. Completing school assignments was easy, but I struggle to stay on task when working on my own projects.

Asking /g/ similar questions did not yield much in the way of results. I never use /biz/ but it looks like it's almost entirely cryptocurrency memes, so this may also be the wrong place to ask this kind of question.
