According to my bank, I've beaten my domestic index over 10 years of span with a BIG margin but i would estimate i've been just very lucky with few stocks. Basically random picked at that time. These days im mostly buying indecies not picking if im aiming to buy and hold equites. Less volatility, no splits, fusions etc. that take effort just to maintain

finance is the least popular major in business schools, accounting is nearly 3x as popular as finance as girls go into accounting aswell. not so much in finance.

the pay is highest in finance, just as good as highest paying engineers. future prospects look the best too for finance of all the business school majors. it's not even a contest. but mostly you will need to have some kind of interest in stocks and markets, otherwise it will suck for sure.
