Sort of. Their cash cow is ipv4, and they're shidding and fardding over distributed protocols taking their centralization away from them. Pic related explains it better than I can. Proof of work coins are just another thing that will make centralized internet harder to maintain

As far as the electricity goes, if you watch the Monero Talk episode with Tom Luongo he brings up a pretty good point: proof of work coins rescue electricity that would have been lost to ground anyway.
