perhaps not, but 2008 was caused by 80 billions worth of subprime mortgage freeze iirc. i know the number is a round estimate but whether it was that or some other term i fall short. the fundamentals of a gme + amc + whoever knows else type of margin call without federal intervention and coordinated manipulation by brokers is probably the fear on their mind. no one wants to be seated in musical chairs last and be the sacrificial lamb lehman brothers of our time right?
