Yes Anon this is not news. That's why people collect pre-1964 half dollars which actually contained silver making them much more valuable than their face value.
This has always played out and currently all of the world's currencies are backed by dollars which are backed by...faith in government. It's the first global experiment with zero fiat currencies backed by precious metals. It's uncharted territory except for the colossal fact that all fiat currencies eventually become worthless.

Currencies change shape every few decades. First it was gold and silver, then gold, then USD backed by gold, then just USD...
CBDC is just the newest ploy cooked up by governments to keep meme wealth afloat.

Thats why you don't buy online, ever....my LCS was selling silver at 19.5x today, very close to spot. He even sold me a 1/10 gold coin at spot. Same one is on APMEX for 10-20% over spot. Its insane the markups online
