I agree that silver has a lot of important uses in future tech but nano-anything doesn't really consume much of the material. Gold has very little uses in industry but has its use as hedge against fiat inflation. There are many other minerals that are needed in the future. Base metals, REEs and uranium (maybe thorium in future nuclear reactors?) are also important.
Investing in critical resources is the patrician choice
