Any of the LMU 20 franc coins are .1867 oz of gold. They are 90% gold so you can actually handle them since they were used as actual currency.

While not 22K, I really like the 20 Franc LMU coins at 90% gold. I am partial to the Swiss Miss.

Premium is a bit high. I like the 1/4 oz better if going fractional. Seems a happier middle. But for fractional gold, I prefer to go with 20 Francs (or LMU equivalent), and I especially like Swiss Miss (pic related). It's a 90% gold coin so you end up with .1867 oz in each. I like that they were true currency that circulated. Less of a premium than on AGE fractionals or US gold coins. Something about Swiss gold gives it a cultured feel too. And they clank well.

For one thing, 24K gold is very soft and easily scratch and damaged. It's not a practical form of gold at all. When gold circulated as currency, the purest was still 22K. 90% gold was fairly common as well. I personally like to handle my gold....and not with gloves. Pic related is what I like. 90% that functioned as actual currency. I'm clinking a stack of them right now and they sound great.

90% gold or even 22K coins are my preferred. Gold is too soft of a metal on its own to function as a practical currency unless it is a gold alloy. The 20 francs (coronas) are my favorite. They are historical and functioned as currency. I don't like 24k because I can't enjoy it and I'm always worried I'm going to scratch it or dent it. Pic related are my favorite. There's something about Swiss gold that feels better.

I picked up some 1/4 oz, but also got some of these. These used to be the world's reserve currency. These are kino.
