It's still an issue that 90% of pool hardware is held in China in which the CCP can take full control of any minute. As more mining hardware is developed and made in China the network is becoming more and more centralized. They only 51% of hashing power mind you, to actually change the network.

XRP on the other hand needs 80% consensus of which Ripple only owns 4%.
