Reminder: Alan Greenspan said that when he was Fed chair he checked the price of gold every morning. Gold isn't just a commodity like wheat or oil. Beneath all of the fancy clothing and blubber of the MMT, Gold is the bones of human trade. And this kind of rise in the price of gold is a deep shift in the global economy. Hold onto your hats, boys.

"The invincible government will just take your precious metals!"
Another line from the fud script to be used after the "your metals are worthless" line fails.

I can't get my head around how any intelligent person could think that now is a good time to put their wealth into paper investments that are floating on history's greatest debt bubble, or into the hands of institutions that will throw them under the bus the second things go south, or into funds ultimately controlled by an outlaw government, or into the scam-infested glowing crypto casino. Did I miss anything? Anyone who thinks the current world economy can chug along this same path forever is a moron. The question is not WILL it collapse. The question is when. And the prudent man tries to anticipate how to preserve wealth through that INEVITABLE storm. PMs are the best I can come up with.

I know you are a foul, disingenuous creature not worth one moment of my time so this reply is not really aimed at you but at innocent folks who might be lurking here.

Filtered.

The only way to have inflation with tight credit is by direct printing of new money and that deprives the banks of their profit, which is the underlying agenda. They are trying to walk the knife edge, continuing the debt scam for bank profits and government largess, but not destroying the currency with inflation. Eventually the music stops and many will be left without a chair. The only question is when.

The most virulent diseases of the modern world - democracy, equality, and central banking - all came from Europe. Just an historical FYI. The problem with America is that we bought into it. Still plenty of reasons for Euros to be envious. Picrel.

I once had a shipment of 500 rounds of rifle ammunition delivered to my prior home address. Lady's kids opened the box! Fortunately I live in a state where guns are not a big deal so she just found my phone number on the invoice and called me. The weird thing was that I had my FFL on file with the company with my current address. I called the company to tell them what happened and they basically called me a liar and said it wasn't possible.

Value is subjective and at the margin is dynamic. If I had more than one 1911 and no gold, I would trade one 1911 for an ounce of gold. But having more gold than 1911s, I would not.

Also, it is important to try and predict future values, although our accuracy is not very good. I think I can predict that the chances of gold becoming the new world currency is higher than the chances of 1911s becoming the new world currency. Therefore, I predict the potential upside in gold is greater than the potential upside of 1911s.
