I can accept some of that logic. You're grieving, have a taxing job, and now have the stress of dealing with a second household to eliminate. A binder of old coins on the shelf is getting tossed. A 100oz bar in the safe isn't.

My kids are all 5 years old or younger and I'm doing my part. My main focus is whether the fight of holding 3 binders of coins is worth the headaches (storage, damage, loss, ...) or do I consolidate.
Weighing the risk and headaches vs the appreciation of passing a 1940 coin that'd be 110-120 years old is burdensome. It's an equation of practicality, neumasmatic speculation, risk, and education which I could use help calculating.
