Do you want to have a discussion or do you want to just hear parroted responses that agree with your views? Ever consider that the latter is falling into exactly the same thought traps that the book emphasizes avoiding?

I found that the book didn't go into enough depth on the topic. It spends enormous amounts of time emphasizing not to buy overpriced stuff. Fair enough. That's a point worth repeating. I found the discussions about the opposite to be lacking the same degree of meaningful depth or substance. If we're being perfectly fair here, it's a lot harder to discuss spending in moderation vs being outright cheap. Using the car analogy, it's pretty obvious that a Cadillac, S series, Tesla, or whatever, is largely going to be utterly pointless. A cheap vehicle is a lot harder to quantify, since there's tons of utilitarian components to consider at hundreds of different price points.

The book seems to think you should just buy a cheap car and call it a day. It discourages thinking about decisions based largely on arguments about time spent. Yes, time spent is important. Opportunity costs and all that. However, with the wealth of information that can be easily cross referenced these days thanks to the internet, many of the arguments against doing a little research simply go out the window. Find cars that fit the general description of what you like and which have excellent ratings and crash tests, test drive a bunch in a couple hours, pick the one you liked the most, and then tell a broker what you want and let him deal with it for you.

If your opportunity costs are so high that spending less than 5 hours on a 5 figure transaction is actually beneath you, you can easily afford a high end luxury vehicle anyways, so it's a totally moot point.

>He provided a direct counterexample that invalidates my point.
>Better call him names.

The point was that there's plenty of examples of unions shitting places up outside of the US. Even Canada has had enormous shitfests with them violently protesting dumb shit. Or do you not remember 2007-2009 when the economy was tanking and things really got bad?

As an aside, you seem to be implying that being a scab is a bad thing. If you are actually any good at a skilled job and willing to work independently, you get paid far more.

You think banks give a fuck about credit score when they mass mail applications?

>MFW I received a pre approved million dollar business card when I was 9
The 90s were a strange time indeed.

By my mid teens I just started just shoving other junk mail like the grocery store catalogs into the return envelope, filled them with glitter, or taped them to a rock. They pay a ton in postage, and have to clean up a nasty mess. Ultra fine glitter is so light that static electricity makes it stick to damn near anything, and even the force of opening an envelope will send it flying. Shit's literally impossible to completely get rid of. It will easily ruin a keyboard if mishandled.

I don't get many credit card offers anymore. Or offers in general for that matter.
