Big drunk crab. Now 2015-2016 there was a period of several months where it was true flat as fuck kill all momentum traders dead market. I use that specific period to backtest new TA gizmos to see if they're okay or not gonna work. A lot of TA gizmos work well enough in a nice swoopy sine wave kinda chart. It's that flat chop that separates something decent from unusable. Like if it says don't do anything for a decent percentage of that flat garbage it's a potential keeper.

TA on oil is developing a bullish case for sure. I would be more interested if I didn't know that this whole rally rests on SOMETHING halfass good done by SOMEBODY(IES) at some point SOONISH. Pro-amateur tip for trading oil: even if you don't use a stop loss on anything else, fucking god damn well use one on oil. Cinch that thing up tight every time you get an upwards jump and sell portions of your positions as it rises. Oil will turn a pretty good trade in to a break even stop out so fast.
