where is the value? if everyone can have the exact same thing you paid for minus the authentication, then the value is the authentication. and if everyone can have the exact same thing, then who cares if it is 'authentic'?

i can imagine real works of art using crypto to validate their authenticity because that represents real value and scarcity, you can't just download the mona lisa. but for some gifs and images there is no value.
