I make 54k and basically get to buy whatever I want as long as it isn't actually anything meaningful in my life, like a home, rental property, business, medical procedure, a family, or a car which isn't constantly breaking down.
It's actually surreal because so long as I stay a in my basically decent 1br apartment, as a single man, with my 2008 Chevy Impala with a dented fender and a bullet-hole in the trunk, I basically get to buy whatever I want.
All the food, the booze, video games, creature comforts, obscure hobbyist-materials, speculative investments, even lingerie for the girl I've been fucking for the past year, constant car repairs, legal fees and everything else resulting from a DUI in 2019 which totaled my car, I'm BASICALLY in the black no matter what the fuck happens. I could eat avocado toast twice a day for a year.

Just as long as I don't actually get to actually own anything.

I recently got a job in property management. Company doesn't own buildings but it sells management as a service to owners of condo units and buildings. Almost none of the rents are what I'd consider "affordable" (though I prefer a very low overhead, "cheap" is twice my monthly rent) but man... These motherfuckers be paying people left and right. Anyone who really hates landlords for having "too much money" ought to start a business offering services to them, because folks are breaking off big-fat-chunks of that pile of too-much money every single day. My political sympathies are pretty left-leaning by nature, but fuck, man... I think this might just be the Circle of Life.

Yes, I've been to one. They're weird.
My ex was friends with a girl who had lots of gay guys as friends, so she wanted to have a birthday party at a gay club, for fun. No one told her this was a bad idea. My ex made me go along because she didn't feel safe.
Well... I didn't feel safe. And I was just wearing regular nerdy white guy clothes... I wasn't walking around in assless chaps.
