Yes, it's only theoretical possession of gold located in the US with the same pile possibly being inspected as their gold by several countries.
From a possible gold-backed currency perspective it makes little difference, the interesting part of recent years is that countries, both western-block and BRICS seem to be adjusting gold reserves getting closer to a point where a backed currency could work.

The western banks actually have gold. But basically everyone will be much poorer on average, since they'll no longer be able to leverage the petrodollar to their advantage. And also they basically want to force all the plebs into a CBDC slavery system, so you'll be even worse for it.

They are though. The US in particular has a shitload of gold, and even more off the books, because they keep stealing other countries' gold (Lybia, Ukraine, etc.)
If gold was totally worthless as you say, they would have dumped it all long ago.

Whoever posted pic related in response to China's gold reserves in the previous thread needs to understand that China isn't exactly open with their information. It's agreed by nearly every expert that China has WAY more gold than they advertise. It's also suspected the US has way less gold than they claim they do, but I won't get into that. Anyone interested on the subject should do some reading on Chinese gold mining. China is the world's largest gold producer, and from the information available they are almost assuredly increasing production every year. Prior to the "pandemic" China was also notorious for the level of restrictions placed on exporting gold out of the country (if memory serves only exporting "pandas" was legal). Don't take the word of a retard like myself though, do your own research. Just bear in mind that any information coming out of China itself is information the CCP has allowed, and should be regarded with several pounds of salt. No one truly knows is the rule of law when researching China.
