Yes, we are gonna remove Mordinals even if they are kicking and screaming. Will they try a literal dusting attack? YES. Will it last? No. I see no reason why Monero should have NFTs, nor why we should give them the easiest route. Especially if you look at their twitter. @m0rdinals. They have not only spammed the chain with useless automatized PNGs. But they are in general a shitty person that will call out people and pretend that "oh this helps the community" or "we don't want to come down kicking and screaming, just leave us alone and we won't bite". Upgrade your nodes to the next release and write emails to pools and urge them to get block templates without transactions larger than 1060bytes. Mordinals might not want a fight, but I do want it. Make it expensive, make it inconvenient, make it obvious. That will only have more people complaining.
