Hey guys I’m sure a couple of you have heard my story of the time my employer supposedly “overpaid” me by about $900, I fought back and secured my money by means of California labor code section 221. Anyways, I was laid off in March due to covid (supposedly) and was never brought back. I lost my house and had to move back in with my parents. Literally every single one of my other co workers were brought back on except for me, they even hired a random female off the street (this is important). I’ve only ever had one write up since my time there with that company, and it was a technicality with my customer satisfaction numbers off my a mere tenth of a percent. I spoke to the new manager about 2 weeks ago and he told me the new girl they hired, simply put was hired “because we needed a female on the books”., this was confirmed after I texted the director and asked him to clarify this directly. He even told me via text, “yeah the new owner is pretty PC so we needed one, we tried to hire femanon but she wasn’t insurable so we had to go with this other girl”.

My question is, do I have a case for discrimination? They passed me over for a female even after hiring everyone else back except for me. Not only discrimination, but retaliation for the overpayment thing. Didn’t know where else to ask this.

Fighting foreign invaders as part of an organized army is worthwile. Fighting a guerilla campaign in a civil war/partisan scenario is worthwile. Choosing to stick around and scrounge by and try to defend yourself from randos when it all falls apart and thinking your homeland means anything to anybody at that point is pants-on-head retarded if you have any other option.
