ive got family in hawaii and alaska, and its crazy how different prices are in those states

small islands are limited by what can fit on a cargoship or airplane, so if something is too heavy or has too much volume, its usually either more expensive or not there at all
theres not many ATM's in Hawaii because the machines are too heavy to fly in, and the ATM's that are there have insane useage fees (and most if not all are run by local hawaiian banks, not national bank chains)
water and non-tropical things are pricey there too, but their kona coffee and other local products are dirt cheap

alaska has a different problem, since its so remote, the only way to get perishable items (such as orange juice) is to pay out the ass to transport it up there in a hurry
and of course the extra price is passed on to the customer
but high quality meats and king crabs are cheap as fuck up there, not to mention petrol-products

>>gonna unironically have a look, there must be a national lime shortage or something
I guarantee there is a lime commodities contracts that you can buy, or "citrus" at the very least (lemons+limes+maybe grapefruits)
check out Nasdaq commodities listings

chocolate will probably get expensive in a decade or two, tequila too

depends on the company
check out FB when they first got listed
did nothing but drop for a while (couple years?), then soared until 2018 hit them

other IPO's just crash from day one and never recover
