On-chain arbitration is the next step in establishing DeFi. It is the next essential component in making smart contracts viable as a means of facilitating finance. Ethereum established the existence of smart contracts, Chainlink facilitates triggering deterministic smart contracts automatically and efficiently, and Kleros will facilitate dispute resolution more cheaply and efficiently than traditional arbitration. It’s not a justice system, it’s not a legal court, it’s the answer to the question of “Guy A signed a smart contract with Guy B but now feels his subjective interpretation of Guy B’s end of the contract was not fulfilled and he doesn’t want to pay. What do?” It’s a means of reaching consensus among randomly drawn jurors with a financial stake in the case’s outcome to determine the most reasonable interpretation of a smart contract if a dispute cannot be resolved deterministically with something like Chainlink. Use your own judgement. I don’t think it’s a good idea to buy something based off of OOOOOOOOOOOO-posting. What I’ll say is this: there isn’t another project with a 300+ page whitepaper that explains every detail of the underlying economic mechanisms that make it effective. There are a slim few crypto teams that have received grants from the French government while their token is still under $0.10. There are shockingly few projects with not only a fully working core platform, but SEVERAL dapps and several more in development. There are very few projects shilled consistently by Vitalik. And there is only one project with all of these in common: Kleros.

I think we’re gonna float around single-digit cents for a little while longer. It’s going to take more widespread retrospective coverage of case 302, as well as high-profile integrations to really get the moon launch started. But I truly think the sky is the limit once the real upward momentum begins. The success of Kleros is in kind with the success of crypto as a whole; it’s possible everything could go to zero especially with the way things are going around the world right now. But if crypto is truly the 4th industrial revolution, and DeFi is an inevitable future, I believe Kleros will be at the heart of it all.
