If Google agreed to come onboard as a data provider or node operator, they wouldn't have to buy link, chainlink would bootstrap them with a direct allocation of tokens.
Because that would be too huge of an opportunity to pass up.
The whole point of the team's token reserves is to use them to bootstrap the network, they wouldn't make their biggest business partner of all time go market buy tokens.
