OK, we beat the system and we are rich. Meanwhile my friends are only talking about "work". I will never have to work. What do I do with my life? Should I unironically pursue a career? I'm 22 years old and working in innovation of education. But now I'm thinking of memes like traveling full time, becoming a rock star, making art,... No idea if I should keep on pursuing educational work and policy. This is weird and only people who made it will understand. Ofcourse I'll be pump and dumping premium pussy. But what's your long-term plan anon?

the executive director of a blockchain company says smart contracts will be widely used in five years? It must be true then. He's totally impartial, after all

>do we really need more than maybe 1 or 2 trusted sources for smart contracts to execute?
>just enter agreements with each other that gives them a way to back out in case of obvious error?
These two questions are related. You're missing the whole point of chainlink: by using multiple independent data sources you decrease the likelihood of 'obvious error'. If you only used 1 or 2 trusted sources then there it would be more likely for there to be cases of obvious error.
The second point:
> agreements with each other that gives them a way to back out in case of obvious error?
The whole point of smart contracts is to avoid this situation. In the current situation companies always try to back out when deals they've agreed to don't go their way. Often, even when one party is legally owed money by the other side it's not worth going to court because it's so expensive. There are tons of disputes that get settled out of court for less because it's not worth the cost of years of litigation.

The whole point of smart contracts is they execute AS WRITTEN. Once on the blockchain neither side can back out unless BOTH sides agree. If you had a situation where one side can 'back out in case of obvious error' it would defeat the whole purpose of smart contracts because if one party didn't like the outcome they could troll the other party by claiming it's an obvious error.

'Obvious' is a term open to interpretation. What might seem like common sense to you is the kind of point lawyers waste days months and years squabbling over in court.

Partnership with zeppelin_os guarantees link will be used in the backround for almost all ethereum smart contracts. Successful Proof of concept with swift (confirmend still in talks with + definitely under nda) that handles financial data for more than 11000 banks. Req put their mainnet on hold for links oracles. Origami network will be using link. Link has a working testnet and a simplifies mainnet already released. Link is the only decentralized oracle network with a working product. Usd pairings coming soon. Decentralized oracles networks will be a requirement for blockchain tech to be adopted. Banks will need it for financial smart contracts. Insurance will need it for automated trustless payouts. Its an almost guaranteed moon mission waiting to happen. The only way link fails is if the blockchain was all a big ponzi scheme with no real world use case. Saying link has nothing going for it is the biggest understatement of the century.

They want to get as many LINKS as possible. Just don't panic sell and wait till granny BTC cools down again.
I just got over 38k LINK and I am aiming for 50k in the next 2 weeks b4 Sergey hit's the conference.
Where are you right now, and for how many links you are aiming?

>total scam
There is actually zero evidence of a scam. They are working hard on their product like they should. They give quarterly updates like any compasny in the stock market.

>No product
They have a product. It was successfully used by swift in a poc to calculate and send pond payments for major banks. It is written in ruby Lang and it is their test net.

>their roadmap is a joke.
Yes it is small but they have hired a few devs and are actively hiring more and are looking in to hiring a marketing director. They have 2 conferences coming up that Sergey will present at and main net will be up this quarter. Once mainnet is up they will release their q2 roadmap section.

>The coin is built on unfounde rumors of partnerships.

Except that that isn't true. Chainlink is partnered with zeppelin_os which guarantees it will be working in the background for all ethereum dapp. They are also partnered with town crier and use Intel sgx which makes them the only oracle provider capable of stopping sybil attacks. Even if swift rejects chainlink, which they won't because ripple is putting them out of business and they need chainlink to compete, chainlink still provides an Oracle network to every bloickchain and dapp in the space which they need for real world information to be provided in to the blockchain.

Jesus christ I'm not going to spoon feed you the basics of smart contracts dumb fuck. Explaining LINK to brainlets is one thing but when you can't even be assed to figure out smart contracts to begin with then it's your fault for missing the biggest moon mission in history

I've spent way to much time researching LINK only to realize that it doesn't matter because in the end speculation will drive the price due to it's partnership announcements and the fact that it's one of the VERY few tokens that has real utility just makes holding it easier. My largest holdings are in LINK and will stay there for the foreseeable future.

What's with the stupid questions then if you believe in the tech?
Crypto and smart contracts will explode as they become more mainstream by 2020.
$100 might be a bit of a stretch but it's not like it's impossible if everything goes well and Chainlink becomes the industry standard.
