In what was seemingly a co-ordinated move, several major players pulled their ads from Facebook and Twitter. Official justification is platforms don't do enough about hate groups.
I think the reality is that all this boring DOW and S&P companies who have watched their stocks get hammered since March have a bit of tech envy. They're reminding social media platforms who have ridden the ATH elevator up that without boring non-tech advertisers, they don't have any income. Stock price envy is driving this rug pull, not some new found sense of corporate social ethics.
