I did the easiest shit in the world, retail work. I don't shower here because I have reason to believe that the water is basically poison here. No way would I want to expose my body to it without treating it massively, which I can't do. The good news is I'm building something to make water, and I feel confident about it.

I'm a freshman in a liberal arts school of a private university(GWU).
Incredibly uninspired by the stuff I'm learning, but it's okay because I'd rather suck it up for dat job doe.
I want to make money, like any other person, and make something out of my parents' investment in my private education.
I have zero network.
I'm trying to major in economics, but am incredibly turned off by any of the quantitative components (doing poorly in Calc 1, Stat 2, and the math parts of Micro). Also the field is incredibly saturated with really smart people from really good schools which is intimidating.
I feel as though any other degree within reason won't gain any respect in the corporate world.
Don't want to pursue a Business degree because it's unattractive to employers. Unless I had said network, I would rather leave it for graduate school.
Don't want to pursue a bullshit degree because waste of money.
I want a comfortable job (preferably in my home city of manhattan) and to go back home to a family where none of us have to worry about finances like I had to growing up.

TLDR; if I have poor grades in the classes that matter of a "good field" with little to no network, can I make some amount of money?

ps: I'm also trying to major in communications, is that a bad idea?
