Searchers from SLAC and Standford said they found a way to replace most plat and palladium with silver in fuel cells' catalysts, which could bring down the price of said cells :

I'm always warry of le scientist findings, since most of the time they can't replicate it and it turn out to be searchers lying to beg for more funds, but if this one turn to be true, markets risk to short Pt & Pl pretty heavily, considering most their industrial uses derive from catalysts..
