>Like i said its a mix and match, some countries with maternal leave have higher birth rates, some have lower,
No, you literally said "its worse the better the leave is" which is untrue.
>my point is that maternal leave isnt this perfect birth rate fixer
I literally never claimed that it was. I was just pointing out the stupidity of making it harder for people to have kids if you want higher birthrates. Obviously there are many more factors at play in decreasing birth rates, namely increases in female education and industrialization, but the least you could do is make it easier for people who may want to have children but can't risk losing their jobs or income to have kids.
>its at best a chance to fix it
Yes, so, given that you want to raise birthrates in the West, wouldn't you take that chance and do anything possible to make it easier for people to have kids instead of making it more difficult?

I was talking to the person who was opposing maternal leave you fucking retard.
>If women don't want it to revolve around work, don't get mad when you get less than the dude spending 70 hours at the office or bringing in more business.
It's not just women you retard. Everyone wants a better work/life balance. Should we just go back to the 1800's and work 12-hour days, 6 days a week? Maybe the guy working 70 hours a week shouldn't have to work that long, maybe we should make it better for everyone. Why do you oppose better conditions for workers? Why are you so adamant about defending the big bosses who see you as nothing more than a means to make money?

A recession is in the cards regardless of who the president is. Orange man is just hastening the inevitable collapse of the American empire by actively dismantling the neoliberal free trade order instead of borrowing trillions of dollars trying to hold it together as long as possible. Orange man is accelerating the dialectic of history, so perhaps we will reach socialism sooner as an unintended byproduct of his policies.
