If you're looking for a lowish-energy house dog then you should check the Hmong breed. We have them in Vietnam, and I think they're related to those doge akitsa things, forget what they're called. Hmong are very cute and quirky, pretty fun and clever but not particularly demanding. They can have beautiful coats as well. Picrel is not as cute as average ones I've seen on the street here. The ones here have like a bear cub sort of phenotype that's adorable.

If you want a small dog then just get a cat. Small dogs are jackasses.

If I ever own a big dog I'm gonna try to find a massive rott hybrid like my friend's. He's really a wonderful dog, one of a kind, and I've spent lots of time with dogs. Used to be a sitter as a teen etc.
