Yes.
But only if you make 100-200k a year, depending on your local living costs. Anything below is just as miserable as NEET life or worse, so there's no point to even bother. This is the future of the West, once automation kicks into full gear. A slim 10-20% working upper class with access to superior medical treatment, tech and experiences and a huge NEET population on UBI (because it's literally cheaper and less politically risky to pay them rather than exterminate them). NEETdom will become socially acceptable, the norm even. I can only hope it will happen before I kill myself. I used to hope I would make it with crypto, but as with anything in my life, I have given up.

Copy paste one of the less socialist European tax systems, then make two major modifications:
1) Exemption ceiling. No taxes for anyone earning the local equivalent of up to 10k. No taxes earning up to 20k if they can show that they use at least 30-40% of their earnings for retirement / investing. If you take money from the poor you'll have to give it back in welfare just to keep them alive at a later point. You can't let people just die, it destabalizes the political system too much.
2) Distribution Voting. Let's say there's 35-40% taxes and citizens are divided into brackets (20k-40k, 40k-80k, 80k-150k and so on). The higher your bracket, the larger the portion of your net tax contribution you get to assign to department(s) of the government. For instance 20% for bracket 1, 30% bracket 2, 40% bracket 3. This dedicated money goes directly into the budgets of the departments and the current administrations can not take it away, only fill it up with the non-dedicatrd taxes. A major issue with taxes is that citizens feel that their tax money is wasted. They feel that the government is stealing their hard earned cash and just throw it out the window - so wealthy citizens simply avoid taxes aggressively. If citizens were given a chance to assign purpose to their tax payments, acceptance would increase dramatically and as a side effect, political corruption and plain embezzlement would probably go down, now that departments have to compete for tax money by doing a good job. Boomers will be able to put their taxes to defense, zoomers to welfare and non-retards from all generations to education and research. Tax evasion will go down, government efficiency increase, political stability solidify and public solidarity improve.
