They can be a private company all they want, but you have to admit that their platform is intended for such a large set of society that their decisions have ripple effects that affect everyone. We all use social media as a whole, they all feed off each other's decisions, and if they can easily choose what to show and what not to show (this has been the case for the past decade, and more so the past three years, but now it is simply undeniable) then it becomes a public, societal concern that cannot be ignored. And I don't think we will ignore it.
