>Why are you all so crypto obsessed?

It's called brainwashing and is a critical attribute to determining if one fits into Slave Theory.

Here are some of crypto's pitfalls:

>1. Be your own bank

While in theory the wallet setups of Bitcoin and its clones seem to support this claim I have found that without fiat denomination of any coin cryptocurrency is worthless in the minds of its speculative investors. The only way this value assignmemt can take place is if the exchanges do the job for the community. With this in mind I find it hard to actually be your own bank when you need a third party to do this for you.

>2. Decentralized

In theory yes because of the nodes. In practice no because of the need for the exchanges again. Without the few exchanges (in comparison to the nodes) denominating cryptos in fiat I don't see how this operation could even survive. This centralized exchange setup may act like a hydra with one million heads but lets face it, they all submit to the infrastructure of the internet to function. This internet is governed and regulated by the very same entities cryptocurrency aims to free you from.

>3. Beat the bankers

Doing a simple search on Google will instantly make you realize that no one is trying to "beat the banks". Just search "banks adopt cryptocurrencies to see what I mean. If anything it almost looks like they are actually trying to improve baking efficiency by acting as disruptive technology masked behind a thin veil of libertarianism. Almost as if it is purposefully playing the proxy card in case the project fails. Freeing yourself financially via cryptocurrencies is actually a tool to enslave you further into the clutches of the banking system.

Then the circular logic that shows the epic fail:

>hate the bankers
>fixed amount
>decentralized
>denominated in fiat
>centralized
>unlimited supply
>hope the bankers save you

The dissonance is strong with these ones

>and I am willing to keep betting on it appreciating in value

And this right here is what makes you a slave and a perfect candidate for Slave Theory. Your investor's bias instantly makes you cheer lead and blindly follow where ever it goes because if it fails you will have to admit you were wrong. That pops your bubble and so physics kicks in and your mind by default takes the path of least resistance. In this case though you will get burned because they cranked up the power too fast in a desperate attempt to beat out daddy. Low resistance and high power = up in smoke
You weren't rated to handle it.

You are not even bagholding an "investment" waiting for the greater fool. You are bagholding an entire meme known as digital assets that have been playing musical chairs for decades.

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

Looks like your gold was not refined
