Ironically, illiquidity makes it easier for short sellers to drive the price down. Buying through computershare also isn't instantaneous, you have to wait three fucking days before your shares are purchased, meaning the price can fluctuate at anytime between then. The only time it ever makes sense to DRS is if you're an insider, which is the reason that system even exists to begin with.

You should look into Richard Newton's surveys, if singlular individuals are direct registering millions of dollars worth of shares, how many more are really held in brokerages? Keep in mind that there's a limit on how much a person can register per year.
