I'll never understand why people are so hot on dividend stocks when you can essentially create your own "dividend fund" via skimming gains on growth stocks with virtually zero effort.

If your growth stock goes up 4% in a month on a $100k investment, just withdraw $4000 and go on with your life. Congratulations, this is your "dividend".

Instead, people willingly take lower payouts, far lower growth or even negative growth, and with the advent of assets like TSLY, exposure to potential rugpulls from options shenanigans. I'm actually very interested in the psychology behind this. What is it that is so fundamentally thrilling for people about dividend stocks that simply the "automatic" nature of them is enough to make people willingly forego comparatively massive diffrential gains in growth?

The irony is that most dividend type people are usually in the camp of Greg Mannarino who absolutely loathe the banks, but somehow trust that intruments like JEPI or JEPQ won't rug them, so now we're talking multiple pathologies stacking on top of each other.

It is truly fascinating.

They're the young Zoomer crew, dreaming big but feeling blue,
Scouring for affordable rent, in a housing market that's askew.
One's coding day and night, hoping for that startup flight,
Others working gig to gig, hoping things will soon go right.

Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Dreaming of a tower!

Scrolling through home listings, prices soaring to the sky,
Working for the future, yet homeownership feels so high.
Struggling with student loans, bills piling up like stones,
Dreaming of that bungalow, a place they can call their own.

Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Saving for the power!

In a world of housing strife, fighting for their rightful life,
Zoomers saving every cent, hoping for a future bright.
Rallying for change, demanding fair and square exchange,
Zoomers strive for equity, a place where they can arrange.

Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Teenage mutant ninja Zoomers,
Claiming their own tower!

Living in small spaces, dreaming of wide-open places,
Gen Z's the future, fighting for fair housing spaces!

Women wanted this.

A good looking gal like that would have 100% been a housewife 70+ years ago. She could have woken up whenever she wanted, done a couple chores, and had all the rest of the day to do projects, art, yoga, whatever the fuck she wanted. Wrap up just in time to get dinner ready for the family.

You get what you fucking deserve.

That's kind of how it goes. I'm suing a previous employer to the tune of $200,000 for not providing wages they owed. The breakdown basically goes like this:

1. 40% of any winnings to your lawyer
2. 30% (approximately) tax
3. Settlement is the most likely outcome, which means I'll probably only get like $120,000 and that would be an optimistic outcome.

So doing the math on that, I'll probably only come out of it with $50k, which still isn't bad, but yeah. Everyone takes their pound of flesh.

On the other hand, your lawyer works for "free" in the sense that you don't have to pay him up front for his services, and he only takes a cut if you actually win. I agreed to all of it because if nothing comes of it, I still make money I wouldn't have had before for basically zero work besides filling out some forms. Pretty low risk to me.

First round of negotiations they offered like $10k and my lawyer told them to fuck off without any input from me which was kind of lulz, so I get some entertainment out of it as well.
