90%+ of Bumble matches just have the woman greeting you with "Hi" or some simple generic greeting. Woman don't know how to chase men and are nervous on approach. They still expect the man to do the work.
Women still like it because they get to fully control who gets to send them messages. If they accidentally swipe right on somebody they think is a loser after a closer examination, they just never message you and don't have any awkward moments.
It's a good formula for a dating site to attract women.
That said, I think Bumble is ok for now, but I'd be very down on Bumble's long-term future. They've spent more time in the last year working on social justice initiatives than the actual product. A business run by women would inevitably start working on the wrong things.
OkCupid used to be the best dating site in the business 5+ years ago and they turned to shit by fucking up how the product worked (messaging works in an insane way now) and focusing on Social justice stuff
