The West, particularly the United States and U.K. were at the core of a lot of these conflicts, invading Iraq and Libya, funding and arming "rebels" against leaders like Assad who protected religious minorities. ISIS was formed in a vaccuum that was created after the destruction of countries like Iraq and Libya which were stable countries not too long ago. Their only sin was that they weren't Western puppets.

Regarding refugees, I do not want a single refugee in Europe, ideally there wouldn't be a single refugee in the world at alll. But we live in a shitty world with war which are mostly conducted for corporate interest so we have refugees. And it is our responsiblity, even if we are acting out of selfish interests, to help these people so they don't have to live in subhuman conditions in refugee camps. I do agree that importing them all to Western nations is not the solution, the money that is spent on a single refugee can be used to house, clothe and feed a thousand who are being housed in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey etc.

Also please distinguish between "refugee" and "illegal immigrant". Syria is a humanitarian tragedy and there is no denying it. Look at pictures of Syria before it was destroyed by foreign interests, it was a peaceful, prosperous nations where people mostly got along. What happened to the people there is nothing short of tragic.
