But the core of the problem is that there is no downward price pressure. The system isn't economic, it isn't capitalist. It is political distribution, Keynesian.

The average Joe is fucked. They didn't bother to pay attention before when everyone with a brain was telling them Keynesianism would fuck the system (as it has, multiple times) and they never will, not even when modern monetary theory argues for unlimited printing. Economics, despite being simple, is too "complicated" for the typical brainlet.

The best you can do is help your family move their finances through this. The needed to be in liquidated into fiat or invested in bonds before this year. We knew the crash was coming before Coronavirus, it was just a Sparta kick off the precipice. Once the deflation hits its peak (almost all of us will mistime this, but rough enough is good enough) then you need to get them into sound growth equities before inflation blows them to hell. Projects that create real value, including things like mining and manufacturing.
