Sounds about right, absolute cheapest I've been able to get dimes for is 24x face value. Don't even buy 90% for the silver value anymore, buy it for the premium and recognizeability. They're like little tiny silver eagles that you can fondle without fear of devaluation.

Anybody pick up old coinage lately? I think 90% US has got to be my absolute favorite silver to buy, such a shame about the premiums

(dumb meme I just made to add an image) What's truly great is to really sell the effect, the volcano somehow keeps it luster from any angle. Only the smoke changes. It's gorgeous. It's changing, it's dynamic, and it's animated. Holographic stickers could never dream to be so classy, it resembles a gem more than a piece of metal. By far my favorite silver proof quarter, and maybe my favorite silver US coin of the 2010's period. 11/10. I get why people are paying $450+ for the 5ozt version, because now I really want one after seeing the brilliance of the 6.25 gram version. But I don't know if the effect can be conveyed as well without a proof finish, the cameo contrast is what really makes this coin. What's a real shame is we didn't get a reverse proof version of this. That could have been one of the most beautiful silver coins, ever.

Ultimately, you're buying the 2012 set for the Hawaii quarter, and to fill out collection gaps. It's so much more expensive than the other sets I can't recommend it for any other reason. That's exactly what I wanted and exactly what I got. If you don't want it for that reason, you don't want it period. Save your premiums for cheaper proof sets. 2009 is probably the strongest year overall, and at a much lower premium if you want to dip your toes into silver proof autism.
