The problem is not necessarily the idea of short selling, but the fraudulent means by which it is being utilized. Naked short selling is illegal and the regulatory authority is notorious for giving slaps on the wrist for what is essentially counterfeiting and STEALING shareholder equity for the counterfeiters. The U.S. government takes it very serious for people counterfeiting U.S. Dollars for this very reason that someone other than the bank could be diluting the supply. It converys benefit and that benefit of dilution should belong solely to the entity capable of selling its own equity.
You can give me your finance101 reasoning behind short selling being a hedge and I won't entirely disagree. The problem is to the extent that company can be shorted given we have ample evidence of fraudulent activity.
The the example of GME, 65% of the company has been bought and direct registered however my investment has moved nowhere to the complete bewilderment of the law of supply/demand. And in the case of BBBY the company was cut off from capital markets and unable to orchestrate a turnaround while being of REGSHO for almost 100 days if I remember correctly. That very act of counterfeiting all of our investments and lending them out deprived us of material damages of billions worth of future revenue as well as shareholder equity. A theft has occurred proven by their inability to properly locate shares for short selling. PFOF is not some advancement of finance but a tool used to forcefully steal shareholder equity in a financialized heist.
Again, if short selling could be actually restricted in a fair way as we ALREADY HAVE LAWS FOR then I would be all for it. Conjuring up a leveraged portfolio on the back of short targets is DANGEROUS for obvious reasons given the systemic risk in the system along with the derivatives market counters in the QUADRILLIONS.

FtD data. Incredibly high buy volume yet the price continuously drops. Emergency barcode algo walking the price down after the 2/6 120% runup to $7 per share. Nothing about what has happened in the last few months can be explained with normal market mechanics. There is literally zero organic price discovery.

The emergency barcode algo is like a referee stopping the game every time one team goes to shoot in a basketball game. The second the referee stops interfering the longs win. And we win on BIG fucking upticks. Back on 2/6, before the emergency barcode algo was turned on, we ran 120% to $7 before they had to start rigging the game.

Right? I think the regulators are stepping in behind the scenes to prevent a squeeze and a market crash because we are in the middle of a banking crisis. This has to be illegal levels of spoofing that are comically obvious but they have no other choice while they sort everything out on the back end. I saw it with my own eyes that this stock wants to rip higher but this barcode algo prevents us from having any green days. The next few weeks should be spicy, because eventually this comes to a head.

Not really. My average is now under $2.50 and I literally watch this stock rip 120% in a single day to $7+. I have no problem patiently waiting for the inevitable because the squeeze conditions still exist. Another month go by of allowing me to slurp $1 shares and I could very well wagmi this very year. I'm more excited than anything.

Fortune favors the bold, my friend. We all saw what happened in January before the barcode algo. We were running up 15-25% and culminated in a 120% move straight to $7 per share before the emergency-barcode-algo had to be turned on. I trust the price is fake because I can see it with my own eyes. I'm going to keep writing cash secured puts until this baby pops off.

>Who's going below a dollar first, you guys or CS? You've got a big head start.
The owner of the convertibles appears to be a benign investor more interested in turning the company around. And given we are paying our bills and own the profitable subsidiary (that just opened a brand new store) buy buy baby we really have nothing to worry about. The barcode algo is fake price action. Once it gets turned off this stock rockets up to $7+. That is why they had to tamp it down because it causes a squeeze that will cascade into other investments. They have been on REGSHO for 40+ days, the FTDs are piling up and the buy pressure is impossibly high. If you believe the price action is real then you are a fool. This is an emergency situation where they have to manhandle the price and there isn't a chance in the world they can win given our company is not even going to go bankrupt. You can slurp up deep fucking value here at $1, and remember: fortune favors the bold.

Yea, I'd say so. The company is undervalued and the only thing tamping down the price is the massive short positions piling up. Too bad the shorts need to find

We're covered, guys, it's not europhic oversell. We're not over-short.
A squeeze on Quad Witch? Unheard of.

And I'm mocking you with the full belief that BBBY is going to suffer, likely even delist Next Year.
But you jumped head first too early. Should have marked twain.

DAMN this is some serious Fraud. I know it's out of containment, but at this level of transaction costs, I can't call this a meme problem.
