I don't understand how anyone vekueves crypto will be anything other than a pseudo-stock & have any actual practical usage.

Bitcoin isn't anonymous and relies on USD, which already shits all over its initial promise. But also in order to use it your first option (I don't know any others) is Coinbase, which makes you wait 5 - 8 days to actually use your Bitcoin in any capacity. Imagine if your bank made you wait that long to use your debit or credit card and during that time your money could be worth considerably more or less, seemingly at random. Nobody would bother.
