Consider for a moment what exactly Nixon was facing in 1974: stocks were down 30% nominally, inflation was running loose with the Oil Embargo, he was going to get impeached.

I think Trump would fold in a situation like that. If he got assurances he wouldn't be prosecuted like Nixon, he'd fold.

Nominal, non-inflation adjusted S&P 500 peak from December 1972 was 118, the lows for the decade came in September 1974 at 63. That's a hell of a decline.

Yeah, you would have been fucked after the start of '75 nominally. Inflation adjusted though, the stock market actually went DOWN.
